On March 12 Belarusian State Technological University hosted a meeting with a delegation from Skolkovo Foundation and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) headed by Alexandr Okunev, Deputy Vice President for Regional Development and Cooperation with the CIS of the?Skolkovo Foundation.
The meeting focused on discussing the ongoing “Hot Spots” project which intends to create a network of advance competence centres based on Russian technologies in partner countries.
The to-be-created competence centres will assist in workforce relocation between countries that experience either personnel scarcity or redundancy as well as facilitate integration of foreign professionals and help their smooth adaptation to new living and working conditions. ?

The centralized management of workforce flows will ensure harmonization of training and migration control by introducing “a passport of competence”.
A digital platform will facilitate implementation of international projects, exchange of personnel and technologies and maintenance of workforce balance in labour markets.
The discussion also included issues of combatting the existing personnel scarcity in the key sector of Belarusian and Russian economies. The parties emphasized the importance of centres to promote innovative solutions and new technologies in various sectors of economy.?
BSTU Rector Ihar Voitau gave an overview of the Competence Centre to be established at the University. The future Centre will focus on six areas of professional training for national industry.?
The meeting participants noted the crucial importance of such issues as promotion of national science, technology and products, joint research, developments and educational projects. The parties agreed to organize a joint workshop where the Russian partners will have the opportunity to present their cooperation proposals. The workshop will be hosted by BSTU and will be aimed at boosting the international cooperation and exchange of best practices.
